Makes us use our creative energies to build and maintain a strong and vibrant community.

Faith
Draws upon the best in ourselves and helps us strive
for a higher level of life for humankind by affirming

SERVING THE COMMUNITY
  It has been roughly a year since the Ujima Foundation was formed in Anne Arundel County by longtime community activists Leontyne Johnson and Delores Hawkins.
  Ujima, or collective work and responsibility, is one of the seven principles celebrated during the African-American cultural holiday Kwanzaa. The women picked the word, derived from Swahili, because they thought it fit their goal of helping unite cultures and communities.
